​Online / Remote Learning

Wine Language currently offers selected courses in online / remote learning setting. Ideal for individuals who are busy to attend regular classes, and prefer to have a more flexible study time. Great for those who are residing outside Singapore yet wants to gain a qualification with us! You save cost, time and able to study more efficiently.  Students register the selected online / remote learning courses with us, learn digitally through an online classroom*, and sit for a scheduled examination remotely!

Please note that SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Subsidy and SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) is not applicable for online / remote learning courses.

Certified Bourbon Professional™️​

The Certified Bourbon Professional (CBP) certification program is the first level of certification within the Master of Whiskey program. There are no prerequisites to enrolling.

A parallel Certified Scotch Professional (CSP) certification program is also available. Having passed either the CBP exam or the CSP exam constitutes Level 1 certification in the Master of Whiskey program. Level 1 certification is the only prerequisite to proceed to Level 2 — the comprehensive Certified Whiskey Specialist (CWS) certification.



Earning the Certified Bourbon Professional™ designation results in the life-long privilege to carry the title and use its postnominals, “CBP”.​

Anytime, on-demand. Once the registration process is complete, The Council of Whiskey Masters confirmation will email you within 48 hours along with your welcome package with a study guide. The welcome package also clarifies the study curriculum and points you to the exact study guide sections that will be tested. After orienting yourself, you can book your test appointment anytime within 18 months of program enrollment.

You can take your exam in any location around the world, through our remotely-proctored online exam on your laptop or desktop computer, independent of your location. The Council of Whiskey Masters will call you at the start of the exam to check you in before the 1-hour exam time starts.

Certified Spirits Judge™️

The Certified Spirits Judge credentialing program is open to candidates globally, and all parts of the certification process can be performed remotely. The curriculum is delivered in a 70-page pdf book format to all candidates and covers all topics relevant to active spirits judging: Production methods and expressions of all major spirit types, systematic tasting methods, detailed competition process and evaluation protocol, as well as key ethics issues in judging. Once candidates feel prepared, they take a 100-question exam online to earn the certification, a score of at least 75 is required to achieve a passing level on the theory exam. A practical exam covers blind tasting of 3 different spirits.

WSET Level 1 Award in Wines - Online Digital Learning

WSET Level 1 Award in Wines will be based around a 4-week, 5 module online learning programme with educator support available for this time. The course modules should be followed in sequential order during the 4-week window. The course material should take about 6 hours in total to complete, plus revision time. Regular access and participation in the course online activities is essential for this mode of study.

The course prepares the student for our qualifications and they are guided by a WSET educator. The student can contact the educator any time for the duration of the scheduled courses, should they have any questions.

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines - Online Digital Learning

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is based around a 5-week, 6 module online programme with educator support available for this time. The course modules should be followed in sequential order during this 5-week window. There is a recommendation of 6 hours study per week to cover the online activities and read the relevant chapters in the textbook. Regular access and participation in the course online activities is essential for this mode of study. 

The course prepares the student for our qualifications and they are guided by a WSET educator. The student can contact the educator any time for the duration of the scheduled courses, should they have any questions.
